Sean Teare is a lifelong activist, seeker of justice, and a 2024 Democratic candidate for Harris County District Attorney.
Teare was born and raised in Harris County and attended the University of Houston. UH is where he obtained both a bachelor’s degree in American History and then his JD.
He has spent 11 years working in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. With 11 years under his belt, Teare passionately adhered to the prosecutor’s oath, firmly believing that the criminal justice system can operate with empathy and efficiency.
On the other hand, Teare has duly recognized corruption under the Republican administration of the currently elected District Attorney, Kim Ogg. Teare asserts, “Sadly, the next six years proved to me that the new administration was more interested in political games and personal vendettas than in real change.”
Teare fearlessly acknowledges the shortcomings of the current administration. He even mentions that other attorneys of the District Attorney’s office have surrendered their positions to take lower-paying jobs due to the utter toxicity under Kim Ogg’s administration. However, Teare plans to stick around to repair and revitalize the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
If elected, Sean Teare will counter Kim Ogg’s plans of enforcing Greg Abbott’s extremist abortion and gun laws, make help more accessible to non-violent drug offenders, reform the cash bail system that prioritizes the safety of citizens rather than the amount of money an indicted individual may have, and mend the immense criminal court backlog (a problem heavily exacerbated by the Ogg administration).
Sean Teare’s campaign is rooted in honesty and justice, imperative qualities severely lacking by the current District Attorney Administration.
