What is the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC)?
The RRC is the state’s oldest regulatory agency that oversees the investigation, manufacturing, and environmental safety of the oil and natural gas of Texas. The Commision is a significant and fundamental part of Texas as it serves as a major indicator of energy prices, environmental health, and the economy of Texas.
The Commision regulates under state constitutional terms and exercises its duties under state and federal laws for use of the state’s energy industries. The mission statement of RRC is to serve Texas by supervising natural resources and the environment in relation to personal and community safety and to support enhanced development and economic vitality for the benefit of Texans.

Culbert wants the people of Texas to know she is committed to operating her role as commissioner with the utmost regard for the safety and protection of both workers and communities. In particular, this means adhering to safety protocols in every aspect of oil and gas operations.
In terms of corporate and responsibility, Culbert believes in strict accountability. Corporations are known to take advantage of the oil and gas production process that in effect cause devastating effects towards communities and the people in and around them. Culbert hopes to enforce policies to make these multi-billion dollar corporations accountable for their harmful actions.
For transparency and accountability, transparency within the RRC is a signature aspect of Culbert’s campaign. She believes in challenging the status quo and wants to begin to question all decisions made within RRC. Culbert guarantees that she will pay special attention to the Commission’s actions, that those actions are in the best interests of Texans.
