Democratic Incumbent Frances Bourliot is running for reelection to serve another term as Texas’ Fourteenth District Court of Appeals Place 5.
Bourliot earned her JD from The University of Houston Law Center and has resided in Harris County since.
Boldly entering Houston’s legal sphere, Bourliot’s first position as an attorney was at the Texas Defender Service and Innocence Network, where she courageously worked as a public defender for death row inmates and prisoners.
Subsequently, she continued her career at the Harris County Public Defender’s Office, providing legal counsel to all who may need it but cannot afford it.
In addition to her formal legal practice, Bourliot also served as an Adjunct Professor at UH Law Center, her alma mater. Here, she utilized and shared her experience in dealing with death row inmates and innocence investigations with future Houston-educated lawyers.
After her time as a legal educator, Bourliot joined the Appellate Division of Harris County Public Defender’s Office and worked on cases that dealt with mental health and felonies.
Entering new legal realms, she joined a plaintiff law firm representing clients for medical malpractice, personal injury, and other appellate cases.
Frances Bourliot is a highly experienced attorney who has performed beyond adequacy in her current term. Read more about her campaign here, and see her name on the primary ballot in March for the Fourteenth District Court of Appeals Place 5.
