Democratic Nominee
Sean Teare, the Democratic nominee for Harris County’s District Attorney’s Office, has unseated his fellow Democratic opponent.
Harris County Democrats, including Teare, have heavily criticized Ogg. He was accused of not following democratic principles and creating a hostile, insufficient work environment in the District Attorney’s office, which caused a massive case backlog and resignations from several employees.
Teare has promised to reform the DA office and remedy Ogg’s shortcomings.
Onto the General Election
After polls closed on the evening of Super Tuesday, Teare graciously thanked his supporters for what they had done thus far. During his thankful spiel, he highlighted the extent to which he won. Teare amassed over three-quarters of the democratic vote share and is confident that Harris County will have his back in November. He asserted that he and his supporters would change Harris County for the better.
Teare will now face Republican nominee Dan Simons in November’s general election.
